Hotels&Restaurants

As a fashion addict I had to stay in the Palazzo Versace, and if you love fashion and luxury, it’s the place to be. In its Baroque style designed by Gianni Versace it’s very glamorous, offering a huge swimming pool with sun-beds and 3 different restaurants. Everything inside of the rooms is in a Versace design: bed linen, towels, bathrooms, glasses, plates… The main hall floor has got a medusa and symbol of the brand as well as its own Versace store. I dined one evening in the restaurant “Il Barocco” with a fantastic buffet and good selection of wines.

Another great restaurant we ate at was the Omeros Bros restaurant specializing in seafood, and the Marina Mirage restaurant with a great Australian Wagyu filet.DSC_0523DSC_0465DSC_0166DSC_0144IMG_5847IMG_5845

Sights&Shopping

The day after, I went to Surfer’s Paradise Beach with its nice long beaches surrounded by skyscrapers right by the main road full of bars and restaurants. One of these is the Skypoint, with an observation deck giving you a 360-degree view.

On Queen Street you’ll find all kind of souvenir shops, fast food chains and UGG stores. If you like luxury brands like Louis Vuitton or Gucci, then you can find them on Orchid and Elkhorn Avenues.Β  There are also a few shopping malls called Marina Mirage, The Oasis Shopping Centre, Paradise Centre and Australia Fair. The area around Surfers Paradise is refreshing as it’s full of young people, everywhere music is playing and at night parties are always going on.

Whoever likes nature should visit Springbrook National Park and the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, where for the first time in my life I held a Koala in my arms, and fondled Kangaroos and Wallabies. An amazing experience.DSC_0244DSC_0261DSC_0626DSC_0232IMG_5830DSC_0346 DSC_0361 DSC_0423 DSC_0432DSC_0267 DSC_0273 DSC_0300 DSC_0301IMG_0790DSC_0306DSC_0343 DSC_0420In the afternoon you can rent a boat which is not very expensive, and for a small tender you don’t need a license. Ride through the canals, get tanned on the boat or have a swim. The scenery is wonderful as you pass through skyscrapers and beautiful homes by the water. There is also the possibility to rent jetskis or, if you have a boat license, a yacht. The place is very relaxing but can be huge fun at the same time.

Have fun if you come here! Β πŸ™‚ Β πŸ˜›
