I had a wonderful 2 day stay at Le Méridien Bangkok, this is part of the Marriott group, so my expectations were high, and fully met. Check-in was smooth and I was quickly in my room, a wonderful circular room with a great view of the King Power Mahanakhon Tower, quite impressive. The room was large and spacious and beautifully appointed, exactly what you need to come ‘home’ to at the end of a long day shopping and sightseeing. Le Meridien are very very good at promoting local culture, the lobby was full of artwork from local artists, including these wonderful little stone dogs which decorate the whole building.
Breakfast, is a sumptuous affair, packed with local exotic fruits, all super fresh and very delicious. It is lovely to see gluten free options on the menu for breakfast, along with some wonderful Japanese items, plus, of course all the good international things one would expect from this style of hotel. One thing that was very interesting (and local) was Illy Coffee flavoured with Mango, very nice, and I had to keep an eye on my caffeine intake.
Le Meridien is well situated very near the bustling Patpong night market, always a fun place to wander round. The Grand Palace is a short drive as is the Chinatown district.
I treated myself to a visit to their SPA which is in the top 3 Spas in Bangkok, and had a hot lava touch treatment, it was a wonderful hour of bliss even the lava stones are individually crafted by local artists and are so perfectly proportioned and styled. They use only local thai products and the staff are very gentle and professional.
This is definitely a great place to stay when in Bangkok, I had a great time here.
